- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar optional, adds slight sweetness
Optional topping:
- ¼ cup extra shredded cheddar
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- baking powder
- salt
- garlic powder (if using)
- Add the Cheese
- Stir 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar into the dry ingredients.
- Tossing the cheese in flour helps keep it evenly distributed in the bread.

- milk
- egg
- melted butter
- honey or sugar (if using)
- Make the Batter
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.

- Transfer to Pan
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
- Sprinkle extra shredded cheddar on top if desired.
- Bake
- Bake for 40–45 minutes.
- The bread is done when the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Slice
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
- Slice once slightly cooled and serve warm.
